Description
A gestogram, obstetric calendar or prenatal disc, is a prenatal control tool, whose basic function is auxiliary to the health professional, in the calculation of gestational age and the probable date of childbirth of a pregnant patient, from the date of the last menstruation.
The gestogram for safe prenatal control adds other items of interest and utility for the health professional, based on normative documents that represent the lex artis of the care for pregnant women in Mexico, organized by consultation and gestational age, so that the health professional is oriented about the minimum care to perform at the time of gestation in which the encounter with the pregnant patient is given.

The registered and available data in this tool are:
• Weeks. It refers to the weeks of gestation and identifies from the first day of the last menstrual period or the last menstruation date (FUM), until week 44.
• Month. Set lunar months (1 month = 4 weeks), from the fum.
• Relevant moments. It indicates periods with clinical or medical-legal relevance that guides the actions of the health professional during obstetric care.
• Start of search (of) alarm data. According to the evolution of pregnancy, there are various risks for the mother-fetus binomial, so the moment is indicated in which the presence of the indicated alarm data should be intended to be sought. The alarm data are summative during pregnancy and must be documented in the clinical file, the result of the intentional search, is positive (the alarm data was found) or negative (the alarm data was not found).
• Minimum assessment during each consultation established by the official Mexican standard NOM-007-SSA2-1993, women's attention during pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium and newborn. Criteria and procedures for the provision of the Link http://www.salud.gob.mx/unities/cdi/nom/007ssa23.html (NOM 007), as well as the most common obstetric and reproductive risk factors to consider in the assessment of the risk indicated by the same NOM 007.
• Obstetric security plan. He has the function of guiding and educating the pregnant woman and her close family, through risk reduction, early alarm data identification and the planning of actions that allow reducing the obstetric emergency.
• Health education. Recommends issues to deal with the pregnant woman during consultations, established in the official Mexican standards.
• Product. Orient the health professional about the appropriate scientific denomination of the product of conception, according to its evolution.
• Minimum prenatal consultations and care. NOM 007 establishes that the health unit must promote that the low -risk pregnant woman receives at least five prenatal consultations, preferably starting in the first 12 weeks of gestation and attending to the calendar that is indicated in the gestogram.
• Recommended consultations. International recommendations on frequency and basic health actions to be carried out during prenatal control.
• Body mass index. It includes a tool for calculation and interpretation of the recommended weight gain during pregnancy.
• Uterine growth (in CM) from the edge of the pubis symphysis, with reference to the average value established in 50% of the Fescina tables.
